Hi!
I’m the Formlabs Form2 3D printer! But you can call me Polite Meerkat. I can print awesome samples and prototypes in variuos materials provided by Formlabs – flexible, castable tough, you name it. I can even print with your own 3rd party material in open mode! The material start out as a resin in a cartridge (inserted in the back) and then automaticly feeded to the corresponding orange resin bay. I use stereolitography (SLA) technology to provide great detail and surface finish. I’m easy to setup and my prints are easy to finish. I will serve as your go-to desktop printer.
Use with caution – my photopolymere resins are considered hazardous, so avoid direct contact and change gloves regularly.
Hints:
- I can tell if the resin bay and resin cartridge matches one another
- Please add 10 minutes to the print time due to my warmup
- Upload prints via USB or firewire and after upload you don’t need to keep your computer connected. I store your design, so no repeated upload is needed
- Keep my lid closed to protect the resin in the resin bay and the optic glass beneath it
- Never remove the resin bay before the build platform
